The Docs with Disabilities podcast with Drs. Lisa Meeks and Peter Poullos featured RCGZ attorney Larry Berger, Esquire, and former client Dr. Jessica Ramsey to discuss medical trainees’ efforts to obtain accommodations on USMLE Step examinations administered by NBME. In 2020, after a 3 year long struggle to obtain accommodations through the application process, Dr. Jessica Ramsay was awarded a preliminary injunction requiring the NBME to provide accommodations.
This live recording took place in July 2022 in Cleveland, Ohio at the Coalition for Disability Access in Health Science Education annual conference. In addition to Attorney Berger and Dr. Ramsey, the panelists consisted of disability consultants, faculty who study performance on NBME exams, and other attorneys who work with trainees denied accommodation on these exams.
